WEDDING FAQ:

WHAT IS YOUR STYLE?

My style is a mix of photojournalism and contemporary portrait. I aim to tell the story of your wedding day as it unveils through my photographs, but I also make sure to capture those ‘timeless’ camera-aware portraits that your family will treasure for generations to come. Generally, the only time I’ll be ‘posing’ you is during the portrait portion of the day, and even then, I'm all about just creating a fun environment where you can be yourselves together. I'll give you some simple directions and then capture the magic that unfolds.  I encourage you to watch my wedding slideshows and look at the images in my gallery, this will give you a great idea as to how you should expect your images to look.

HOW LONG DO WE HAVE TO WAIT TO SEE OUR PHOTOGRAPHS?

I know you’ll be dying to see your images, so within a couple of days of your wedding, I’ll email you a small selection and share them on social media. You’ll have your full collection within 6-8 weeks of your wedding, depending on what time of the wedding season you’re married. At this time you’ll also receive your cinematic slideshow, made up of some of my faves set to music – this is a brilliant, easy (and emotional!) way to share an overview of your day with your nearest and dearest.

CAN I SEND YOU A LIST OF ALL THE PHOTOS I WANT?

I’ll definitely need a list of the family photographs you want to have taken on the day (this usually happens after the ceremony). You’ve probably seen in some places that you should give your photographer a ‘Shot List’, but please be assured that I generally will capture those images anyway, as they’re all a part of a normal wedding day! If you have a special event happening during the ceremony, or something 'out of the ordinary', definitely be sure to let me know.

DO WE GET ALL THE PHOTOS?

I carefully curate a collection of the best images to tell the story of your day. I’ll shoot multiple shots for each ‘setup’ but of course you won’t want photos with your eyes closed or weird expressions, and I don’t want anything that’s not up to my standard floating around out there!

I’ll deliver in the vicinity of 600-800 high resolution photographs, depending on how long I’ve spent with you on your wedding day. These are provided via USB or download, with a print release to print and share however and wherever you wish!

CAN WE MAKE A PENCIL BOOKING?

Sure! I know sometimes you're trying to put together a big jigsaw puzzle and you have to try to make some of the bigger pieces all fit together, so pencilling a date is ok with me. But please be aware that I take CONFIRMED bookings as they come, so your booking is not locked in (and written in pen!) until I receive a signed contract and retainer payment.

DO YOU BRING BACKUP EQUIPMENT?

Definitely! I have backups of every piece of equipment I need for your day.

ARE YOU INSURED?

Absolutely.

CAN WE ORDER OUR ALBUM AT A LATER DATE?

I totally understand how expensive a wedding can be. That’s why I have two Collections: one with, and one without an album. You can take your time to enjoy your images, decide which are your favourites and order an album when you’re ready.

YOU CAN JUST FIX THAT IN PHOTOSHOP RIGHT!?

You’d be surprised how often I hear this phrase.. and sometimes I'm not sure if people are joking! There are certainly times where I will use Photoshop to enhance your wedding images (like when I REALLY want to shoot you in a field but there’s a big old power pole in the background), or if a pesky pimple sprouted the night before your wedding day! ...and yes I generally “can” fix most anything… but that’s not really the approach I like to take.

I want you to look like you in your wedding photos, and I aim to get everything as perfect as possible “in camera”.  I’ll guide you when we’re working together so that I’m capturing you at your most flattering, and if something doesn’t look quite right, I’ll let you know so we can fix it then and there.
